The Best Fes to Marrakech 4-Days Morocco Desert tour

After having a delicious breakfast, embark in a 7 hours’ drive trip. This trip takes you through the Saiss plains to the city of Ifran, the Switzerland of Morocco. Ifran is known for its special architecture and snowfall in winter season. The next destination is the city of Azrou which is similar to Ifran and located in the middle of the Atlas Mountains.

You can stop for a while in the Cedar forests in order to take some pictures and encounter the Barbary apes. After taking a short break, we will continue our way to the city of Midelt, famous for its apple farms, where we can have lunch.

Afte having lunch, we will head to the Ziz Valley which is famous for its oases and eye-catching palm trees. All over the way, you can enjoy the mud-brick Kasbahs scattered on the mountains.

Before sunset, we will arrive to the famous town of Merzouga where we can have dinner and spend the night.

After having breakfast, you will meet your local guide who will take you first to the village of Khamlia. This village is known for its musical local Gnaoua Bands. So, this is your opportunity to enjoy local musical rhythms while enjoying a cup of mint tea. After that, your experienced driver/guide will take you inside the sand dunes for a memorable sand bashing tour.

In the mid-afternoon, prepare yourself for a wonderful camel trekking experience that will allow you to witness the best sunset above the golden sand dunes. Your destination is the Sahara Desert camp. In the camp you will have dinner while enjoying the local nomads’ music, then spend the night under the starlit sky.

If you choose to wake up early in the morning, you can witness the majestic sunrise before breakfast. So, you will ride your camel back to the town of Merzouga where your driver is waiting for you for your next destination.

The journey of day 3 of your Fes to Marrakech desert tour commences with a visit to the holy town of Rissani. Known for being the cradle of the Alaouite Dynasty, Rissani is also famous for its dates’ market where you can find multiple types of dates.

Tinghir is the next destination. This town is known for its Berber villages and its Berber Jewish community that lives in the town until the 60s. Those Jewish Berber people were known for their silver craftmanship and the local Berber people inherited this industry from them.

Tinghir Oasis is also worth visiting. So, you can wander through the oasis in order to unveil the secrets of the town. Your walk takes you to the breath-taking Todra canyon.

After enjoying Tinghir and its wonders, we will drive to Boumalne Dades where we can have dinner and spend the night in a local hotel.

In Boumalne Dades, you can pass through the Valley of Roses where the aroma of roses attracts the visitors. You can also visit cooperatives run by locals in order to distill rose water and other perfumery products. After unveiling the Valley of Roses’ secrets, we will drive through the 1001 Kasbahs Road towards the Skoura Oasis. In Skoura, you can visit the wonderful Kasbah of Amridil, one of the best-preserved Kasbahs of Morocco, which is known for its architectural and cultural aspects.

The next quick stop will be in Ouarzazate before heading to the Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou. This Kasbah is famous for being a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

After having lunch, we will head to Marrakech through the High Atlas Mountains and the Tizi N’ Tichka pass. All over the road, you can enjoy the scenes of mud-brick towns scattered on the summits of mountains.

At afternoon time, we will reach the city of Marrakech which is the final destination of your 4-day Fes to Marrakech desert tour. So, we will drop you off at your hotel or Ryad in Marrakech hoping for another experience in the future.

PS: In the period of the year from March 1st to September 30th, we recommend spending the second night at the Sahara Desert camp, then an overnight stay in Merzouga Lodge. This procedure is due to longer and hot days in this period of the year. So, you can enjoy staying in an air-conditioned room or swim in the swimming pool.
