15 Days Morocco Tour Itinerary:
Upon arrival at Casablanca airport, we will pick you up and begin your 15 day Morocco itinerary that starts with a visit to the magnificent Hassan II Mosque, one of the biggest mosques in the world. Having seen the mosque, we will depart to Rabat.
During your stay in Rabat, you would get to see Hassan Tower, Kasbah of the Udayas, and the Royal Palace, including an overnight stay in the city.
Next, along the coast is Asilah with its white-and-blue-painted buildings. Definitely worth spending the afternoon discovering medinas, art galleries, and beaches, an overnight is called for in this picturesque Asilah town.
After breakfast, drive to Tangier. Visits to the Tangier Medina include the American Legation Museum, and enjoy the views from Cap Spartel. Overnight in Tangier.
After breakfast, drive to Chefchaouen-the famous blue city. Enjoy its picturesque streets, the Kasbah, and relax in the quiet atmosphere of these mountains. Overnight in Chefchaouen.
Today's all about relaxation in this little town; take it easy. Local hike in the Rif Mountains, or at Ras Elma Waterfall-or just take in the view; the tranquility's almost tangible. Second night in Chefchaouen.
Breakfast. Then, drive to Fes via the ancient Roman Ruins of Volubilis-with very well-preserved remains of ancient mosaic and historic buildings, then to the Imperial City of Meknes, renowned for having two of the largest gates-the Bab Mansour and a Tomb of Moulay Ismail. From there, we carry on to Fez, where we will stay for the night, saving the visit for the next day.
We will start our day tour in Fes with an explanation of the Medina of Fes el-Bali-a UNESCO World Heritage site-and then get lost in its labyrinthine alleys. See the Bou Inania Madrasa, an absolutely stunning example of Marinid architecture; the Medersa el-Attarine, impressive in its tile work and a very attractive courtyard; before making your way through the busy souks, including stops at historic landmarks like the Royal Palace.
The opportunity to visit the well-known Chouara Tannery, where you could see this traditional leather-making process, should not be missed. Another night in Fes, after a day fully packed with sightseeing.
Fes to Merzouga: 7-8-hour drive
After having breakfast, we will take an early beautiful drive for Merzouga, via Ifrane, an especially charming mountain town that has, because of its Swiss-like atmosphere and beautiful alpine style in architecture, been called Switzerland.
Further through the Middle Atlas Mountains, and a stop in the cedar woods nearby Azrou to see Barbary macaques-a famous monkey-in their environment. The continuity of our journey will ensure magnificent views of mountains and valleys as we approach Merzouga.
Upon arrival in Merzouga, get ready for the most unforgettable camel trek into the Sahara Desert. You will cross the big dunes of Erg Chebbi, see the landscape in open peace, catch a great view of the sunset over dunes, and then overnight at a desert camp in typical Berber dinner under star navigation.
Watch the Sahara come alive as the first light of the morning sun rises over the dunes after an early morning sunrise over the desert. Have breakfast at the camp in the desert, and then we start driving for Ouarzazate.
In the way stopping for visiting the amazing Todra Gorge. This is a really amazing canyon, cut by the Todra River, which is famous for its upper limestone cliffs that come up drastically to create such a wonder of nature. You can make a small walk along the gorge and enjoy the cool atmosphere inside it and the interesting rock formativeness.
Continuing our journey, our next stop will be Ouarzazate, referred to as the "Gateway to the Sahara." It is in this city of Ouarzazate that Ait Benhaddou Kasbah is found-the magnificent adobe casbah that is a UNESCO World Heritage Site-where some scenes were shot for both Game of Thrones and Gladiator. Wander through the narrow alleys, climb to the top of the kasbah, and enjoy great views while learning about its rich history. Evening: After a day's tiredness of sightseeing, we go back to our rooms in Ouarzazate.
After breakfast in Ouarzazate, we take the Agadir way, crossing beautiful landscapes of the Anti-Atlas Mountains. On the way, we will cross Asafran town, well-known for saffron production.
If you would like, you can visit local farms growing this expensive spice and participate in gathering procedures. Saffron has gotten the nickname "red gold" for value and color; this stop will provide a review about agricultural traditions of Morocco.
Continuing our drive, Agadir is a coastal city along the Atlantic Ocean, famous for its beaches and laid-back atmosphere. Take your time on Agadir Beach to enjoy the golden sand and clean, translucent waters.
Alternatively, take a stroll along the Agadir Marina, where restaurants, shops, and Atlantic Ocean views greet you. For some shopping, head to the Souk El Had market - a very busy local market full of spices, textiles, and handicrafts. Later tonight, overnight in Agadir.
After breakfast, you can spend some more substantial amount of time over Agadir. You can see from above Agadir Kasbah - on one of the hills with really good panorama views of Agadir town, coastline.
Agadir museum allows learning a bit about historical and cultural backgrounds of Agadir. You can visit one of local cafes or browse in some of the line shops. If interested, a bird sanctuary can be visited in the Souss-Massa National Park, or simply take an easy walk around the town's botanical gardens.
Later, we will drive 30 minutes into Taghazout-a laidback surf town with a relaxed atmosphere and stunning beaches. Full day at leisure in Taghazout basking under the sun and surf of the beach-for the adventurous, why not try your hand at surfing on the warm, consistent waves which attract surfers from across the globe. Alternatively, take a seat by the ocean and soak in the serenity. Overnight in Taghazout.
Enjoy your morning breakfast with a real view of laid-back, surfing-crazy Taghazout and its amazing coastline. Take it easy with a walk on the beach, sit in the sun, or do some surfing at one of the available spots in the area.
If you want to keep going at this relaxed pace, stroll down quaint streets with local cafes, artisan shops selling handmade crafts, and art inspired by surfing.
After lunch, drive to Essaouira, an extraordinary coastal town and home to a well-preserved medina, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Visit Skala de la Ville - the old fortress with impressive sea views and cannons. The day is at leisure when you can simply spend sometime on the beach or proceed to stroll in the cozy streets of this quaint old town. Over night stay in Essaouira.
Spend the morning after breakfast exploring more of Essaouira. The city takes pride in very lively arts, with a number of local art galleries highlighting many works of Moroccan and contemporary style. Take some time for shopping in the busy markets-souks-for unique handicrafts, jewelry, and textiles. Take a chance to buy some local stuff like woodwork, ceramics, and silverware.
If you like to spend a more relaxed day, then the beach is here: golden sand and tender waves. You can also have a nice walk along the promenade or make a slow walk along the quiet alleys of the town.
In the afternoon, we will make a trip to Marrakech; this takes about 2.5 hours of travel. You may have some rest or begin your independent discovery of Marrakech upon arrival. Later, proceed for an overnight in Marrakech, getting ready for its magic.
On this day, the full-day tour in Marrakech resumes right after having our breakfast. A local guide joins and walks us through the history and culture of this great city.
This Marrakech tour will start at Jemaa el-Fnaa Square, a hot spot in the city. You will enjoy here the taste of lively street performers, food stalls, and local merchants. This is a good spot to take in the atmosphere and vibrant energy of the city.
Next, we’ll head to the Koutoubia Mosque, one of the most iconic landmarks in Marrakech. Admire its beautiful minaret, which stands tall in the city’s skyline. Although non-Muslims can't enter the mosque, the surrounding gardens offer a peaceful place to relax and enjoy the views.
We will then head to Bahia Palace, the epitome of Moroccan architecture, with its beautiful garden, intricate tile work, and lavish rooms telling the tale of the country's very rich royal past.
We will also see the Saadian Tombs, a historic site where several members of the Saadian dynasty are buried. These tombs were only "rediscovered" in the early 20th century and are renowned for their beautiful decoration.
Lunch will be in a typical Moroccan restaurant, where you will be served with tagine, couscous, and many more other food varieties.
Afternoon: Set out to catch your eyes on this magical botanical garden belonging to the former owner, Yves Saint Laurent-Majorelle Garden. Take all the time in this place of touring because this place contains all vibrancy of flora by some catchy bright blue pieces of construction.
