The Best 5-day Desert Tour from Marrakech to Tangier

Our 5 days / 4 nights Marrakech to Tangier via the Sahara Desert starts with a pick up from your hotel or Ryad in Marrakech at around 8:00 a.m. The first destination is crossing the High Atlas Mountains and the famous Tizi N’Tichka pass. During this drive, you can enjoy the wonderful views of Mountains and the Berber villages scattered on their summits. This drive takes you to the Dades Valley where you will have a short break.

The next destination is the famous UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou. This Kasbah is famous for its wonderful mud-brick buildings and narrow alleys. It is also a shooting site for many famous films such as ‘’Lawrence Of Arabia’’ and ‘’ Gladiator’’.

After the Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, we will visit the famous city of Ouarzazate where you can have lunch at a local restaurant. The next step is the Valley of Roses where we can stop and visit the rose water distillation cooperatives. Afterwards, we can wander through the Skoura Oasis with its wonderful palm trees and the Kasbah of Amridil. The last destination of the first day of our 5 days Trip from Marakech to Tangier will be in the Dades Gorges where we can spend the night in a local hotel or Ryad.

The second day of our 5 days Marrakech to Tangier via the Sahara Desert begins with a traditional local breakfast at your hotel or Ryad. After breakfast, your driver will pick you up and take you on a new journey towards the Todra Gorges in the town of Tinghir. Upon arrival to the Todra Gorges, you will enjoy the breathtaking natural views of the Todra canyons and wander through the Tinghir Oasis. In this visit, you can take memorable lifetime pictures and unveil the secrets of the sites.

After enjoying your day in the Todra Gorges, we will head to the Moroccan Sahara Desert and the Erg Chebbi Dunes in the Town of Merzouga. In Merzouga, a caravan of camels is waiting for you for a wonderful camel trekking experience. The camel ride takes approximately 1:30 h towards the Sahara Desert Camp, and during this trip you can sightsee a spectacular sunset and experience sandboarding. Upon your arrival to the Sahara Desert Camp, you will be welcomed by the hosts who will offer you a glass of mint tea and play local nomadic music for you. Late in the afternoon, you will enjoy dinner and spend the night in the Sahara Desert Camp under the starlit sky.

In the early morning of your desert camp night stay, you will wake up early in order to witness the majestic sunrise and have a delicious local breakfast. After that, you can go back to the city of Merzouga either by a camel ride or 4wd cars (As you wish). The next destination is Fes. But before reaching the imperial city of Fes, you will pass through many wonderful sites such as the Ziz Valley with its wonderful natural views, the Middle Atlas Mountains and their cedar forests, the famous towns of Ifrane and Azrou. Upon arrival to Fes, our 3^rd day of our 5 days Marrakech to Tangier comes to an end. So, we will stay in a local Ryad or hotel where dinner and a night stay are offered.

Fes is the intellectual capital of Morocco which makes it a wonderful touristic attraction for those who admire history and authenticity. So, in Fes, you will be accompanied by a local and knowledgeable guide who will serve at your pleasure. The famous destinations in Fes are the Esplanade of the Royal Palace, the Jewish Neighborhood (The Mellah), the Qaraouine University, the tanneries, the Attarine museum and the Mausoleum of Moulay Driss. After visiting all these touristic attractions, you will have lunch at a local restaurant and then visit sites such as the tile cooperative and the Old Medina.
